AEC Community and Philanthropic Endeavors
Veterinary Wellness Clinics
What began as a single veterinarian’s plan to prevent a disease outbreak in a vulnerable population has grown into a thriving and collaborative community wellness project that provides resources and removes barriers to veterinary care for families in need all over Whatcom County. Learn more about the history of our veterinary wellness clinics in this June 2023 article from WhatcomTalk.

Partnered Vendors and Resources
Partnered Organizations
At our veterinary wellness clinics, patients may receive wellness exams, vaccinations (including follow-up boosters), parasiticides, microchips, and pet food/supplies. Attending families are connected to information about additional resources (including spay/neuter services) available to communities that would otherwise find care inaccessible or unaffordable.
Disease prevention remains a central focus of AEC’s community outreach. We provide rabies vaccinations for both dogs and cats, as well as Distemper-Hepatitis-Parvovirus-Parainfluenza (DHPP), Leptospirosis, and Bordetella vaccines for dogs and Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis-Calicivirus-Panleukopenia (FVRCP), and Feline Leukemia vaccines for cats.
We host each clinic in two sessions, separated by twenty-eight (28) days, in order to provide appropriate vaccine boosters to participants. Hosting multiple events allows wider access to care and more opportunities for collaboration with the affected community.
