Experiencing a veterinary emergency?

What You Should Do:

If possible, please call us before arriving so we can offer support, help you with directions, and prepare our emergency team for your pet.

If you can, please complete our online admit form while on your way to the clinic. This will help us expedite your pet’s care upon arrival.

Bring any relevant medical records, current medications, or health information about your pet to assist our team in providing them with the best possible care.

If you need assistance bringing your pet from your vehicle into the clinic, let us know when you arrive. Our team is ready to help.

What Our Medical Team Will Do:

Upon arrival, your pet will be immediately assessed by a veterinary technician through a process called triage. Patients in unstable conditions will be seen by a veterinarian first and treated immediately.

If your pet is stable, our patient-care staff will meet with you to obtain more information about your pet’s condition. Then, the emergency veterinarian will meet with you to discuss recommended diagnostic testing and treatment options.

While your pet is being treated, we will keep you regularly updated on their status. Our goal is to be as efficient as possible while caring for hospitalized patients and admitting new emergency cases.

After appropriate care, the emergency veterinarian will recommend one of the following:

  • Your pet may return home with discharge instructions for necessary continuing care.
  • Your pet may need to remain in our hospital for 24-hour monitoring and intensive care.
  • Your primary care veterinarian may resume your pet’s care, providing any necessary follow-up or additional treatment.

It bears repeating: If you are at all uncertain about whether your pet’s symptoms warrant an emergency room visit, please call us. We are here around the clock.
